Umzala book launch
Posted by Openly Positive in News, Umzala

Family, friends and work colleagues packed The Book Lounge on 25 February 2009 for the launch of Elaine Maane’s book Umzala, the second in Openly Positive’s story-telling series.
Elaine’s close friend Nomampondo Barnabas, who has been living with HIV for 11 years, facilitated the launch and introduced Elaine:
“To those living with HIV, I say: come out of the closet! Many of our brothers and sisters have died lonely deaths. Let us speak out. I believe that talking openly about HIV heals our minds and strengthens our bodies… Elaine, we are here to celebrate your life – from your proud Zambian roots to your life on South African soil.”
